Online Personal Information Manager That Works Also Offline: Scrybe - Video Intro

Scrybe is an online personal information manager which shows very original traits and is likely to set new standards for office applications of its kind. The most important of its features is the one that enables you to collect and store data and information online and, in the same time, access them even when you are offline.

Another interesting thing is that Scrybe shows a very intelligent interface, which auto-expands and minimizes depending on what you are looking at. Moreover, other features include easy time zones management for your appointments and seamless import/export of data from/to your desktop applications.

Furthermore, Scrybe allows its users to print out their calendars and lists, which is a feature that is usually not available in other online organizers. It is also possible to copy text and images from the internet and edit them within Scrybe with great ease.

Scrybe is currently available for private beta an will officially launch by the end of October. I requested an invitation to try out Scrybe but I did not receive it yet, therefore I wasn't able to test it personally.

We have already talked about this new service in a quick post published on MasterNewMedia, where you will find a chapterized version of the video demo released by Scrybe.

Additionally, I have taken the same Scrybe video demo and chopped it in several parts, so that you can take a sneak peek at this new service and jump directly to the details that interest you the most.

Check it out:

Offline access

Scrybe is pretty unique in its genre, as it is the first web-based organizer that allows you to access it even when you are offline. If you set up your browser to work offline too, you will be able to seamlessly input all your data, which will sync up with your account on the web once you go online.

The good thing is that you really don't need to install any client application on your computer to do that. With this effective feature, Scrybe bridges the convenience of a web-based service that you can access from anywhere and the comfort of a desktop application such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Sunbird.

Focus on details without losing the context

When you use Scrybe and you are viewing your data disposed in calendars and lists, you can easily notice that the interface changes automatically and according to the operations you are doing, thanks to zoomable views.

If you add a particular event to your list, you can move it to any calendars or to other lists effortlessly, thanks to a very intuitive drag and drop feature. In one click you can jump from an overall view of the screen to a single detail without any difficulties and always maintaining the context.

Time zones management

Scybe features impressive controls for managing time zones all across the world. If you are in contact with many people that live abroad and have different time zones, you can take advantage of Scrybe to know which is the best time to meet with them and compare multiple time zones without stressing yourself over GMTs.

Data import and export

With Scrybe you can easily import data from your files, be them spreadsheets, documents or images. All the data you upload is automatically formatted as it is in the original file and you can also edit it within Scrybe. Additionally, it is possible to export your lists right into your emails or desktop editors. Among the supported file formats there are Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel.

Create and store notes

While surfing the net, you can copy text and images and send them to Scrybe with one click. You can edit whatever you copy and present it in a different fashion. Elementary formatting options, such as bulleting, bolding and linking are provided by Scrybe text editor.

Print out your organizer

Scrybe lets you print out your calendars and lists in a very simple way. The service provides pocket and wallet layouts that are predisposed to be folded without the need of glue. With the help of a special wizard you can chose the ones that suit you most.

System requirements

Scrybe is completely web-based and you don't need to install anything on your computer, even for offline use.

Pricing

Scrybe is free to use.

Try it out

Scrybe is currently in private beta and it is expected to launch by the end of October 2006. You can request an invitation on the official Scrybe site.
