Screen Sharing And Live Annotation Make A Step Forward: Vyew 2.0 Pre-Release - Video
Vyew recently delivered a pre-release of Vyew 2.0, the upcoming version of the popular web-based screen sharing and live annotation tool. We already talked about this innovative free service in another article published by Robin Good, in which he explored all the possible uses of Vyew. Now we want to show you this pre-release, which unveils a lot of interesting new things.
The pre-release of Vyew 2.0 confirms the cutting-edge approach of its developers, featuring the much awaited improvements to the live desktop sharing capability (now also available for Mac users), which eliminates many bugs and finally allows users to see the presenter's mouse cursor moving on the screen.
The features that already existed in the preceeding version, such as the whiteboard and the instant screenshot command, appear to work much better and Vyew 2.0 interface loads faster than the old version.
I personally tested Vyew 2.0 on Firefox 1.5 and Internet Explorer 6.0 and the tool worked smoothly on both of them, although I experienced some little delays while I was sharing my screen with other participants.
You can check out my short 3' video introduction to Vyew 2.0 pre-release, in which I take a sneak peek at this tool and show you the latest features that characterize it.
System requirements
Being Vyew 2.0 completely web-based, you can access it from any platform. You only need to have a compatible browser, such as Internet Explorer 5.5 (and above), Firefox 1.4 (and above) and Safari.
