Access All Major Instant Messengers From One Unique Web-Based Interface: Meebo

Meebo is a web-based service that lets you log into all major instant messaging networks, from one unique interface and without forcing you to download and install any of the individual IM clients normally required.

You go to Meebo and once you are logged in you can view and access all your buddies across all of the major IM networks from just one screen.

Meebo helps you connect with your friends and team mates even if you are away from your base computer and you can't access the software needed to run an IM. Through Meebo you can directly access all of your contacts on:
AIM, ICQ, Jabber, Google Talk, MSN and Yahoo! instant messaging services from Meebo's web page.

Meebo is free to use and totally web-based, thus meaning that there is no need to download or install anything on your computer. Besides, there are no system requirements to use Meebo, as it is a cross-platform application and all you need is a standard, up-to-date browser.

Here the details:

Meebo sports a very intuitive interface, available in 46 languages, which allows you to sign into your IM networks with great ease. It is possible to log in using up to four screen names, one for each IM network: you can do this by entering your username and password into the input boxes.

Meebo enables you to sign on as invisible: you only need to select the checkbox located at the bottom right near the "Sign On" button.

In the upper-left corner of the page, you will be able to see your account status. If you logged in with a Meebo account, you will see your Meebo username as well.

Your buddy list will appear on the right in a floating window; this list displays all the buddies associated with their status. Meebo displays a different icon near your contacts nicknames, according to the network they belong to: this way, you are enabled to easily identify them.

The upper part of the buddy list shows a toolbar with the following features: "Add Buddy", "Remove Buddy" and "My Meebo", plus the commands to set your status.

Meebo allows you to sign into another account or log out of a IM network while remaining logged in. Just click the "Sign On" or the "Logoff" button on the bottom left corner of the buddy list while you are logged in.

If you register to Meebo you will be offered some of the features provided by AIM, Yahoo! Instant Messenger, Jabber, Google Talk and MSN Messenger, including a chat history storage option, the capability to save your preferences (like sounds and appearances) and the ability to show different online status for individual accounts.

System requirements

Meebo has no specific system requirements, as it is fully web-based and cross-platform; you only need to have a compatible browser to use it. At the moment, Meebo supports the current browsers:

Price

Meebo is 100% free to use.
