The interesting guest sitting in front of me today is Marc Eisenstadt, from the Knowledge Media Institute of the Open University in the UK.
Marc is the chief research scientist at the institute, and over the nearly 30 years he has spent there, he has involved himself with projects ranging from content publishing to presence awareness and online collaboration.
In this enjoyable 22-minute coffee table conversation Marc dwells on topics ranging from knowledge management and the friction encountered by content when meeting too tight licensing options, to online collaboration and the technologies that have made the team and colleagues working with him popular in the circles of those studying collaboration tools from a user-centered viewpoint.

My recommendation is not only to give a good ear to the fascinating stuff that Marc tells us, but to actually go and test out some of these genuinely useful tools. Here they are:
I think you will appreciate how much of a difference it makes having the opportunity to innovate ad listen to user needs in ways similar to what has been achieved with the above tools.

Each one showcases some ingenious thinking, a strong eye toward usability, and the keen dedication of a team working to improve upon often old and inefficient assumptions.
And in this respect, Marc and his team, have truly done an excellent job so far.
